As guest teacher, Atsushi SUGIYAMA and Mai FUJITA had an opportunity to share our business philosophy and challenge regarding the environment and recycling business in Japan and Thailand with undergraduates of Chuo University. They are now conducting research about the environment and recycling business in developing countries. Associate Professor So SASAKI, the researcher of this seminar, has engaged in research on the environment and recycling business in Asian countries, policy makings of recycling, and support for Japanese companies’ oversea expansion. Undergraduate of this seminar conducts research to solve environmental problems such as garbage dumping and heavy traffic jam in Asian countries. As a part of “studies in global fields”, the programs of this seminar, they visited Asian developing countries, Thailand and Vietnam. They had interviews with related parties and came up with ideas, proposal, which shall contribute to solving issues. In the lecture, we introduced the present state of the environment and recycling business in Japan, business scheme and the new business in Thailand. We actively discussed obstacles to solve those problems and how we can connect the solutions of social problems with business. We appreciated to have a chance to exchange ideas and experience each other. We are delighted if our lecture would help their research of environmental conservation and building of a sustainable society.
